The Sunday Times of UK reported that Vodafone (VOD) is preparing to sell 3.2% stake in China Mobile.  Vodafone’s intention to dispose China Mobile stake flagged, 3.2% stake in China Mobile translates into HK$52.39 billion worth of shares, equivalent to Hong Kong stock market’s average daily volume. It may be too big for Vodafone to find strategic investors to take the entire stake, and until that happens, it will remain as stock’s overhang.

China Mobile was down 1.65% at HK$80.25 (ADR $51.57) vs Hong Kong HSI’s 0.71% rise when the morning session closed on Monday. The stock closed at $52.78 on Wall Street last Friday.
