Esprit Holdings (Hong Kong stock code 00330) surged 25% to HK$17.78. The company said its profit attributable to shareholders plunged 74% to HK$555 million for the six months ended 31 December 2011. Its basic and diluted earnings per share were HK$0.43. The turnover was HK$16.7 billion, a decrease of 6% from a year earlier; with an operating profit of HK$787 million, down 70% year-on-year. The interim dividend will be HK26 cents (2010: HK$1) per share, payable on or around 18 April 2012.
